OverviewGalerians: Ash is a sci-fi survival horror game developed by Polygon Magic and published by Enterbrain for the PlayStation 2 in Japan on April 25, 2002, with overseas releases co-published by Sammy Studios on February 3, 2003 (in North America) and March 28, 2003 (in Europe).
The sequel to the 1999-2000 game Galerians, Galerians: Ash takes place six years after teenage psychic Rion found his revelation as a superhuman Galerian, killed the Galerians sent to subjugate him, and sacrificed himself to destroy their leader: the sentient supercomputer "Dorothy". After being cryogenically revived, Rion must stop a new group of Galerians (known as "The Last Galerians", led by the misanthrophic Ash) awakened by Dorothy (as her contingency plan) before they restore her and destroy mankind. While several parts of the game remain the same, the game includes new psychic abilities for Rion and new gameplay mechanics (including a defensive shield, a diving roll, and the ability to lock-on to specific enemies). In Japan, the game received a special edition, known as Galerians: Ash×Rion Complete Pack, that includes the three-part 2002 OVA Galerians: Rion.
