Achievement in Story award, and the GDC Best Narrative award.) As of May 2025, the game has sold 100,000 copies.StoryYears after the arrival of an alien virus, all that remains of humanity is a quarantined research facility now known as The Orchard, and its inhabitants: the reclusive ALLMOTHER and her clones. The ALLMOTHER's clones act as sisters, worshipping the ALLMOTHER, and dream of "graduating" to help her fight the Occupants, aliens responsible for the virus.The story follows Watcher, one of six sisters given a special role to help maintain The Orchard. Her duty is deciphering the ALLMOTHER's past through "communions", replaying the ALLMOTHER's memories. Watcher's first communion is interrupted, however, by a recently-graduated sister who shares with her information that leads Watcher to question the world the sisters know.
