Whomp 'Em
Whomp 'Em, the North American version of the Japanese game Saiyūki World 2: Tenjōkai no Majin (西遊記ワールド2 天上界の魔神) (1990), is a platform video game released on the NES in March 1991.
Developed and published by Jaleco, Whomp 'Em is an action platformer that features a Native American protagonist.
The player is tasked with completing six element-themed levels and each level the player completes gives them access to a new weapon, much like in the Mega Man series. Also like Mega Man, the player is free to tackle these six worlds in any order they choose.
In Japan, the game is based on the Monkey King legend and is titled Saiyuuki World 2. Saiyuuki World 2 is the sequel to the original Saiyuuki World, which was itself a graphical overhaul of the Westone Arcade game Wonder Boy in Monster Land.
