OverviewShock Wave: Operation Jumpgate is a sci-fi flight combat game developed by The Advanced Technology Group and published by Electronic Arts for the 3DO in 1995.
Although it is run as a standalone product, it is an expansion pack to the 1994 game Shock Wave and requires a save file from the original game to play.Set in the year 2026, seven years after the events of the original game, Operation Jump Gate has the player returning as "Wildcard" to their F-177 Heavy Fighter to lead an assault against a second wave of alien invasion throughout the edge of the Solar System. This expansion includes five new missions and a new variety of enemies to fight.Both the original game and this expansion were later bundled together for the Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Windows PC conversions in 1996 as Shockwave Assault. In Japan, however, the game and expansion only received separate PS1 releases.
