Red Storm Rising

Red Storm Rising is a submarine simulation by Microprose. Players take command of a fast attack submarine in a series of missions that influence the outcome of World War III.

Players control a nuclear attack submarine in the Norwegian Sea whose hunter killer assignment has a major affect on World War III.

Red Storm Rising is based on Tom Clancy's 1986 book of the same name. Neither the book nor the game takes place in Tom Clancy's "Ryanverse." All of Clancy's stories (books, movies and games) except SSN and, as just mentioned, Red Storm Rising. SSN, although also a book and computer game about an American nuclear attack submarine, is not related to Red Storm Rising.
