Pnickies
A Japan-only arcade adaptation of the Puyo Puyo series of falling-block, tile-matching puzzle games. In this version, clusters of blocks are only cleared if it contains two or more "star" blocks in them.
OverviewPnickies is a falling-block, tile-matching puzzle game developed and released by Capcom (under license from Compile) for arcades (using their CP System hardware) in Japan on June 1994.
Based on Compile's 1991 game Puyo Puyo, Pnickies has players manipulating two-block pieces (or "pnickies") of different colors onto the board in an effort to clear them. Unique to the game, however, is that groups of same-colored blocks are only cleared if the cluster contains two or more special "star pnickies", regardless of the amount of blocks. The game includes both a single-player and versus multiplayer mode, the latter of which makes use of garbage blocks.
