To balance his power in the game, players who select Saitama will be forced to hold off the enemy team until he arrives to finish the battle, and lose the character slot that would normally go to a playable fighter. If the player is defeated before Saitama arrives, they lose. However, by landing certain combos, they can speed up Saitama's arrival.Saitama's "Dream Version" is a version of the character wearing pajamas with drastically reduced powers, allowing Saitama to be balanced with the rest of the cast.
