The game is the sequel to the original Mega Man DOS game, not the NES titles. Confusingly, this was the second Mega Man title released for DOS, despite it being titled Mega Man 3. The console release had progressed to Mega Man 5 when this game was released. The subtitle The Robots are Revolting is only mentioned on the back of the box.
