It is one of a handful of SNES games to use the Super FX chip to create 3D models for its gameplay, along with other Super FX-supported games like Star Fox and Stunt Race FX. It was released exclusively in Europe in 1995.The player can use one of three vehicles for each race: a speedy buggy that is harder to control, a monster truck that handles well but moves slow, and an all-rounder stock car vehicle. Players can take part in a League or a Tournament, and their progress is saved by a password system. The game has five different tracks in total and supports up to eight players, though only two can play at once.A novel feature of the game is an indicator in the top corner that tells the player whether they are winning or losing a race; this is represented by a smiley face that changes depending on the player's situation. All races are one-on-one, so the player can only ever be first or last.
