Bloody Roar: Primal Fury
An enhanced update of Bloody Roar 3, featuring a new side-story, revamped character designs, and controller-friendly gameplay updates.
Overview Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, known in the Japanese version as Bloody Roar Extreme, is a 3D fighting game developed by Eighting and published by Hudson Soft (with Activision co-publishing the game outside of Japan) for the GameCube in North America on March 19, 2002, in Japan on April 25, 2002, and in Europe on May 3, 2002.
An enhanced update to Bloody Roar 3, Primal Fury features a new side-story, revamped character designs and stages, and gameplay that is updated for easier use with controllers. Its story details a fighting tournament held by a new kingdom of Zoanthropes in the East formed during the ongoing tension between them and humans. Despite the kingdom's quest for peace and security, it is rumored that they conduct cruel experiments to uncover the secret behind the Zoanthropes's transformation abilities. It later received an Xbox conversion by Konami Software Shanghai in North America on May 27, 2003, in Japan on July 17, 2003, and in Europe on November 28, 2003. Unlike the GameCube version, it was released overseas by Hudson Soft as Bloody Roar Extreme, replaces all the hand-drawn anime cutscenes with 3D CG cutscenes, and includes minor gameplay changes.GameplayMuch of the gameplay remains the same from Bloody Roar 3. However, there are some differences (most notably, updated controller-friendly movelists). One of the key differences is its Hyper Beast Transformations, in that it is now a separate button press and no longer requires a full Beast Gauge to perform (but it drains vitality if performed in this way).CharactersNew AdditionsGanesha, the Elephant - Sub-boss, unlockable in the GameCube version and unlocked from the start in the Xbox version.
