It is a BMX-focused successor to their earlier skateboarding/rollerblading game Mountain Dew presents Extreme Boards and Blades. Like most of HeadGames releases, it features official branding (this time with Schwinn and GT bicycles).The game also received a special re-release that same year as a tie-in with the Tech Bike toy line of fingerbikes as Tech Bike Freestyle: The PC Video Game. Similar to Tech Deck Snowboarding, the retail packaging includes a set of toys inside (including a fingerbike and accessories).
