Undead Labs was founded by Jeff Strain in 2009.

Founded in 2009 by Jeff Strain, Undead Labs' first project, originally codenamed Class3 and now renamed to State of Decay, has been released on Xbox LIVE Arcade, Xbox 360 and PC. It is said that the game is going to be a stepping stone to a large scale Zombie MMO, (working title is Class4) in the future, however, not much is known at this time.
