Idea Factory is a video game publisher and developer located in Tokyo, Japan. Its works include a number of role-playing games, as well as an extensive line up of otome games under its Otomate label.
The company is part of the Idea Factory Group, alongside Design Factory, which produces female oriented audio drama CDs and games for Otomate, and Compile Heart, which is known for RPGs more aimed at a male audience.
In 2013 the group also established an American branch, Idea Factory International, which has started publishing some of their games North America and Europe.
The company was founded in 1994 by former Data East Corporation employees.
