Game Republic is a now defunct independent Japanese video game developer.
Game Republic was an independent Japanese development studio founded by Yoshiki Okamoto after his departure from Capcom. Suffering from financial problems and low sales, in June of 2011 all employees were let go except Okamoto, who later announced his retirement from making console games and instead working on mobile games.
