Downsizing
On August 21, 2013 Big Fish Games announced that they laid off 49 of their employees in the Seattle office and closed the Vancouver office. All of the projects that were being worked on in the Vancouver studio were moved to the office in Seattle.
The reason given by Paul Thelen was that it was a cost cutting move. Big Fish Games wanted to exit business areas that were not either profitable or growing.
In addition, Big Fish Games closed their Cloud Delivery Business, which was a separate venture from the digital distribution service.
